STX changed its name to VARD – from «varde», the safe beacon at sea.
STX is changing its name to VARD. STX OSV has been acquired by the Italian group Fincantieri and, in this regard, has changed its name to VARD™. NameAbrand has been Brandlab Oslo's partner in the naming process, and has developed the name VARD for the launch. The new name originates from the Norwegian word «varde,» which signifies a safe route at sea and reflects traditions and maritime heritage. For generations, the company in the northwest has built and adapted advanced offshore and special vessels, and developed strong innovation capabilities for systems and solutions in shipbuilding.
