The collective offering in Sogn og Fjordane – named company name of the year by the Language Council.
KRINGOM has finally been launched; the public transport offering in Sogn og Fjordane county municipality has a new name. Kringom is both a written and Nynorsk expression, and at the same time it is simply a synonym for around or about, and has meanings such as back and forth, to and fro, hither and thither, here and there, around.
All these meanings relate directly to the function of collective provision, and thus fit well as a solid and Norwegian brand name. In 2016, the name was named Business Name of the Year by Språkrådet (The Language Council of Norway), in collaboration with Nitimen and Arne Hjeltnes.
