Buskerud Public Transport – from the bear in the county coat of arms, power and tradition.
Buskerud Kollektivtrafikk AS has changed its identity and is now called BRAKAR. The company has previously received a lot of feedback that their name was awkward to remember and difficult to use, – and therefore they have now chosen a shorter and simpler name. The name BRAKAR refers to the county coat of arms of Buskerud county where the bear is the main element, and tells about Vassfaret and the surrounding areas which were known for their bear populations. The bear represents power and strength, but also tradition and culture in Buskerud. These are qualities the company identifies with, and just like the bear, they want to leave their mark. Brakar is a pleasant and inviting name, while also being human and approachable, easy to pronounce and remember, – and at the same time a bit humorous. The development of the new identity is a collaboration with Salto Design AS (defunct as of this date).
